Startups often test ideas but setting up a simple website, to see how people will respond. It’s a format that works for me personally as well. I felt that I needed a canvas to communicate my thoughts to outsiders. Websites work well for that.

Why Lean Systems?
I am very torn about the term of what I am trying to capture. Over the years, I’ve seen:
- Agile Product Development
- Agile Systems Engineering
- Extreme Hardware
- Cadence Free
- … and many others.
“Agile” is problematic: It’s already associated with software, and a little overhyped.
Lean seems to capture much better what I was looking for. Also, what Joachim Pfeffer said made sense.
Why Lab?
Of course, all the concise domains were taken. I want to have a practical approach, with examples and case studies. Lab fits the bill, and both .org and .com were available. Convenient: One for the book, one for the commercial arm?
